Artifact 1: Screencast
I chose this artifact because of how successful it was in the classroom. I used this to introduce to my baking students how to complete their baking project. I found that most students had never seen a screencast before, and they got a kick out of listening to it. They really appreciated the time I took to make it and the time spent sharing it. Furthermore, I found that this eliminated the questions I was use to getting in the past. Students instead were able to follow that link whenever they wanted and for whatever questions they had. Artifact 2: Course Road Map I chose this artifact because of how awesome it looked after I made it. I realized that it was easier to make after the fact I taught a unit, but how awesome it would be to use before a unit starts. The Road Map assignment reminded me so much of a unit outline, or a day by day. However, putting it into a student friendly format ended up looking a lot nicer and neater. I am excited to make each of these as the units complete, that way I am ready to have them for the next year or semester.

This course has taught me how to really switch things up in my classroom in regards to technology. Especially, how it relates to in units, and not just little lessons here and there. The Unit plan was a challenge to create, but did offer me a chance to use technology more into daily activities. I feel the unit plan has allowed me to really grow as an educator, as one who is more in touch with technology. I enjoyed how each week I was challenged to add more to the unit, and was given many resources to further build my unit.
One thing I enjoyed most about this class is that I got to take it with other colleagues. Not only did I have the online discussion weekly posts, but I had the opportunity to talk in person with my coworkers. I personally found those more informative, than the discussions online. I felt as if I was often just trying to find a way to extend my positive thoughts, when it could have just been said in less words. I look forward to try and use what I learned in this class into my future classes, more than what I was able to this semester. I feel that some of the assignments will help me to reach the students in a way that I wasn't before. |
